AACSB Accreditation Processes Earn ISO9001:2015 Certification
I am pleased to announce that AACSB has earned ISO 9001:2015 certification for our accreditation quality management system, demonstrating our global commitment to customer service and excellence in business education.
ISO 9001:2015 is the internationally recognized standard for quality management systems (QMS), widely used by the global business community to ensure the highest standards in consistent process delivery. With over 1.1 million certificates issued to organizations in 178 countries, it is the most extensively used QMS standard in the world. Achieving this certification demonstrates to the business community—and the public—that AACSB is committed to the same level of quality standards used in businesses globally.
Over the past two years, AACSB has worked diligently toward earning this certification, which involved evaluating and documenting accreditation processes, conducting internal audits of every process, and assessing and using the results to introduce improvements in order to elevate quality and enhance customer satisfaction for our member schools and volunteers. In its external audit, AACSB received commendations for:
Involvement and support of AACSB leadership
Clear, well-defined, and well-documented processes
Strong IT infrastructure and support management
Comprehensive internal audit programs
ISO 9001:2015 is a rigorous global standard of quality, much like AACSB accreditation. Achieving this certification underscores AACSB’s commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality and customer-focused accreditation services around the world.
By holding the accreditation process to the same type of external review that AACSB itself promotes, our members and external constituencies are assured that AACSB accreditation meets global quality standards.
AACSB is now part of a select group of educational accreditors worldwide that hold this prestigious certification, and we are all very proud of this remarkable accomplishment.
